Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous songs that dealt with racial identity and sexuality with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living from Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came via the trumpet. Also, she received Jazz and classical training before when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. While at school, she majored in journalism and women's studies, and was studying Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. Not until after graduation did she start focusing on music. After becoming famous via the Internet, her track My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks including body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. This song is directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. Apart from being a published author, her other career was singing. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. In 2018 she landed breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
